JMP Transport Expertise in Renewable Energy Supports Plans for a Wind Turbine Construction Plant on Banks of Humber
JMP’s expansion of its portfolio of expertise in supporting renewable energy production continues apace with the completion of a transport assessment and travel plan for the proposed Green Port Hull (GPH) wind turbine manufacturing and assembly facility at Alexandra Dock, Hull.
JMP’s work, commissioned by Associated British Ports (ABP), supports the planning application for the proposed GPH development for Siemens Wind Power, which plans to commence the production of wind turbine equipment at the site in late 2014.
JMP considered the traffic and transport impact the development will have on the strategic road network in Hull – the A63(T) and the A1033(T) - during the construction and operation of the plant.
The site will be used for the manufacture of turbine nacelles as well as for the import of other turbine components, such as towers and blades, prior to shipment to off-shore wind energy development zones, primarily located in the North Sea.
