Alan has 18 years experience in the transport and development planning sector and currently has corporate responsibility for the company's transport modelling capability. He is one of the country’s foremost microsimulation modelling specialists having spent 10 years at specialist microsimulation modelling consultant SIAS and continues to be at the forefront of microsimulation advances in strategic modelling. He provide professional advice to a range of public bodies both local and national as well as private sector developers and partners. He continues to provide technical training to both public and private sector individuals and bodies as well as presenting at various user groups and technical conferences.

At the macro modeling level he specialises in interpreting large data sets for local development plans; providing appropriate technological and affordable transport solutions to the private sector and making the economic case to local and national government bodies for major transport schemes. His technical areas of interest also include the modelling of sustainable transport modes and systems, urban design, shared surfaces and design led rather than technological solutions.
